Christopher Heard is the Program Assistant for the Education Team at the Achieving Independence Center. In this role, Christopher assists Philadelphia foster youth with working toward independence by facilitating small group workshops related to post-secondary myths, options, financial aid, and resources. A native of North Philadelphia and alum of both the Achieving Independence Center and Youth Employment Project, Christopher wants to show youth in foster care that hard work, dedication, and education can help them strive to where they never thought possible. “I hope to make a difference in the foster care community and help to change foster kid’s lives. “
