Claire Pope is the Director of Community Partnerships at Temple University's Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships. In this role, Claire works with residents, community organizations, Temple University departments, city agencies, and local employers to champion programs & initiatives that improve employment equity, job quality, and violence prevention in the City. During her time at LCCWP, Claire has been primarily responsible for managing the Lenfest North Philadelphia Workforce Initiative, coordinating LCCWP’s work with other University departments, building authentic community-university partnerships, and supporting the development of new or existing projects that fill unmet needs in the community.

Prior to joining LCCWP in 2018, Claire worked at Temple University’s Office of Sustainability leading community outreach and engagement initiatives. However, Claire has lived and/or worked in North Philadelphia since 2011 when she began her community engagement career at the St. James School in Allegheny West through the City Camp program where she worked for 4 years. Through building relationships with residents and community organizations in this role, Claire witnessed the power of authentic community partnerships and was drawn to pursue a degree in Social Work at Temple University.

Throughout her academic and professional career, Claire has participated in several student and community organizations that focused on organizing and coalition-building for social justice, economic equity, and stronger community-university relationships. She has her Bachelor’s and Masters's in Social Work with a concentration in Macro Social Work from Temple University and is interested in community-led, data-driven solutions to issues that impact the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Philadelphians.
